Meet Hannah Westbrook

Born and raised in Laramie, Wyoming, Hannah Grew up playing boys hockey for the Laramie Amateur Hockey Club and Team Wyoming before joining the Colorado Extreme and Colorado Select AAA girl’s programs at age 11. Playing for Colorado Select, Hannah was a captain of her team for 3 years and won 3 District Championships and attended USA Nationals 3 years in a row.

Hannah attended NAHA 2004-2007 where she was a standout defenseman for the North American Hockey Academy Winterhawks, and played her Senior year with one of the top winningest teams in NAHA history. With great success at NAHA, Hannah landed herself a full D1 scholarship to the University of Vermont where she was a starting defenseman and key player all 4 years for the Catamounts. Hannah graduated in 2011 with a major in Community Entrepreneurship and a double minor in Advertising and Public Communications.

Following college, Hannah was not ready to hang up the skates, so she continued her playing career overseas at the professional level as an import player for 3 years playing for Leksand in Sweden, HPK in Finland, and The Goannas in Australia where she had tremendous success and became one of the first American female hockey players to player professionally in 3 different countries.

Hannah began coaching in 2011 helping youth organizations in Colorado and Wyoming and working fulltime for Planet Hockey, where she traveled throughout the Summer coaching and directing power skating and skills clinics. While Hannah was in Australia, she found her true passion for coaching when she became the assistant coach for the Australian U18 team. After finishing her professional playing career, Hannah moved back to Colorado and joined the Colorado Select and Colorado Fourteeners programs where she became the 14U head coach and skills/power skating coach. Last season, Hannah joined NAHA as the Director of Player Development, Director of Western Recruiting and is the 19AAA head coach for the program. In the off-season, Hannah continues coaching and running her own personal camps in Colorado where she is a certified power skating and skills coach.
