The LA Lions Women's Team Winning Streak Continues! Coming together for the first time since winning a National Championship back in April the Lion Women took the ice in the Annual Play LA Labor Day Tournament.

Starting the weekend off at a disadvantage once again going 1-2 in round robin play, the women set out with a chip on their shoulders for the semi-final game to take a 4-1 win to head to the championship game the following day.

Heading into the championship on Monday the women fell into a big hole going down 1-4. The third period proved to be theirs as they came back like a hurricane ending regulation in a 5-5 tie. After a tough overtime period they entered the shoot-out not looking back. Steff Brenman-Reed came up with the big game winner on a beautiful deke finishing with a top corner snipe.

5 different Lions contributed goals in the championship game showing just how deep this team still is in talent. Heading home with their championship bottles of wine the women look forward to the start of their 2018-2019 campaign.

The Lion women also had a special guest in the stands, 8u captain - Addison Frazeur, cheering the women on from start to finish. She was honored to join the ice with the Lion Women for their Championship picture!

Look out for Lion Women's tryouts to be posted soon! If you haven't already you should head out to Artesia on Saturday night's to catch these awesome ladies in action!
